5 ways to help our convenors when you register for the Stratford & East London Music Festival

If you've already registered for our 2026 festival, a huge thank you.
However, based on previous years, it's fair to say that the vast majority of our entries come in just before the closing date at the end of December.
This last minute flurry of entries, although hugely welcome, puts a bit of a strain on our convenors. We are all volunteers - mere mortals - that fit our festival work around our day jobs.
What you may not realise is that when an entry comes in, we have to carefully check it for things like spelling mistakes, wrong classes being entered, pieces/ songs over the allotted time limit, etc.
We have to be thorough, as all this information gets used in our programmes, which are available during the festival. It's also really important in terms of sorting the timetabling for each day of the festival, and for the information we give to the adjudicators.
Here are five ways you can help us:
Check the spelling of your name
Check the spelling of your pieces/ songs
Check the spelling of composers/ authors/ arrangers
Check the length of the piece you have chosen to make sure it fits the allowed time limit
Submit your entries as early as possible 🙏🙏🙏
This will take the pressure off of us at the beginning of January, when most of us are still in Christmas mode!
Thanks in advance!
A Convenor🥰
